The Sojourn Center board of directors is pleased to welcome Samara Abplanalp on July 18, 2024 and Emily Rhodes Hunter on September 19, 2024 to our board of directors.
Samara conscientiously and capably has served as our nonprofit’s treasurer starting in fall 2019. After encouragement to officially become a board member, she graciously joined in summer 2024.
Emily has hospice experience as a chaplain of Montgomery Hospice in Rockville, MD. She and her husband moved to Blacksburg where she served as a bereavement counselor for Good Samaritan Hospice in the New River Valley and Roanoke. Emily is currently the associate pastor at Blacksburg Presbyterian Church.
