Amy Woods, DNP, RN is a native of the New River Valley and has been the Chief Nursing Officer of LewisGale Hospital Montgomery (LGHM) since 2018. She has been with LewisGale’s parent company, HCA Healthcare, for thirty-five years.
In addition to her responsibilities at the hospital, Amy is actively involved in the community both locally and internationally. She has been on nine medical mission trips to Haiti. She is a member of the Virginia Nurses Association, the American Organization of Nurse Executives, and the Association of Operating Room Nurses. Locally, she serves on the Advisory Board of New River Community College, has been active on the Executive Committee for the American Heart Association’s annual HeartChase/HeartWalk event, and participates in fundraising and coordinating the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and the Montgomery County Christmas Store.
Amy is a Fellow with the Nursing Leadership Institute. She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Wytheville Community College, her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Radford University, her Masters of Science in Nursing from Research College of Nursing, and her Doctorate in Nursing Practice Nurse Executive from Radford University.
